Shmelevsky is a Ukrainian brand of handcrafted hats that focuses on working with shape creating modern hats with unconventional designs that easy to wear. The brand was founded by the brother duo Stas and Vlad Shmelevsky in 2017.
The designer of the brand Stas Shmelevsky could not find the right hat and decided to create it by himself. After two years of learning millinery and hat production, the brand released the first collection that was influenced by the works of Anish Kapoor and modern sculpture.

Our design philosophy is based on laconic modern design and craftsmanship. Focusing on working with shape, the brand creates modern hats with minimalist designs that are easy to wear.
Each hat is handmade-to-order and creating without the help of pads in a manner resembling the creation of sculptures, when the shape of the hat sculpturing by hands only, giving it a unique body each time. This approach makes it possible to avoid overproduction and create a piece according to the customer’s size.
The entire process — from sculpting the shape to sewing the band — is performed by a designer and a creative director of the brand Stas Shmelevsky himself, combining traditions of European and American millinery techniques.
